As one gets old, there is a slight hesitation and confusion of whom to mingle with. There’s a norm in the society that an old man doesn’t fit into every group. The poet is in the same dilemma; he’s old but loves to socialise. He’s confused as whom to mingle with: chai-party or alcohol-party.

Amidst his confusion, he realises that an old man can mingle with anyone – old or young. The only important thing is he should never lose his dignity.
